We are a sailing school for persons with a physical or developmental disability, regardless of age or degree of disability.

Founded in 2001 and serving the greater Quinte area, the school has grown to be one of the largest in Ontario. It operates out of the CFB Trenton Yacht Club. Our goal is to be accessible, affordable and active. Through the use of technology, barriers are eliminated, providing the therapeutic benefits of sailing on one’s own.

Job description

This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to develop their sail training/leadership abilities through very rewarding work teaching sailing to people of all ages with a disability. We provide a beautiful and interesting back drop operating out of Bay of Quinte Yacht Club (BQYC) located in the City of Belleville. We have run successfully for 18 years.

  • Required to work effectively as a team member with two other staff and volunteers.
  • Wage rates dependent upon experience and capability.
  • Ability to plan fun and effective sessions which everyone enjoys.
  • Need to bring enthusiasm and energy to motivate kids and adult of all ages.

Education: 
CANSail 1/2 Certification is Mandatory

Equipment used: 
Martin 16, Access Dinghies and Challenger Trimaran; Teaching aids supplied

Courses Offered
CANsail, Racing, Cruising and Recreational Sailing.

*some of these programs may be adjusted to adhere to COVID-19 restrictions etc.
