Position Title: Dive Centre Manager 

Position Type: Full time, 5 days per week including Fri, Sat and Sun

Location: Bondi

Position reports to: Director

We are a PADI 5-Star and GUE Premium Dive Centre offering exceptional standards in customer service, training, safety and professionalism.  We are seeking a dive centre manager who embodies these values, and enjoys working in a fast-paced customer-facing environment.

The successful applicant will

  • be an Australian Citizen, permanent resident or similar, able to work in Australia indefinitely and commit to a long-term role.

  • be a certified diver with a passion for scuba diving.  A professional dive qualification (eg Divemaster or Instructor) is desirable but not mandatory.

  • have experience in a busy retail environment.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

To maximise the profitability and long term sustainability of the Centre by:

  • Providing outstanding customer experience (for retail customers, during training courses and presentations, and all enquiries via email, phone, over-the-counter or website).

  • Managing day-to-day operations and logistics (stock, suppliers, inventory, purchasing, scheduling, rental bookings and servicing bookings).

  • Organising, advertising and managing courses, trips and other events

  • Assisting with staff rostering by determining weekly staff availability and allocating staff to courses and tasks accordingly.

  • Ensuring all areas of the Dive Centre are always clean and presentable (stock on display, general shopfloor, classrooms, bathrooms, outdoor area).

  • Upholding the brand values of the business

Additional Responsibilities

  • Must be a fluent English speaker with appropriate IT skills for PC (Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office).

  • Involvement in marketing and strategic development of the business.

  • Orientating new/part-time staff to company procedures and standards, identify and communicating areas for improvement where applicable.

  • Identifying areas for operational improvement and helping to refine all systems, processes and policies to improve the day-to-day operation of the business.

  • Creating new initiatives that contribute to long-term success and profitability of the business

  • Managing the Dive Centre over any arranged period of time to allow the Director to take leave or conduct offsite business.

  • Communicate problems, issues and incidents to the Director and where possible offer solutions or action to be taken.

  • Having sufficient flexibility to undertake and assume ownership of a range of additional tasks from time to time as required.
