About the business

Located in Tutukaka and Marsden Cove Marina's, we operate diving and snorkelling trips to the Poor Knights Marine Reserve, Tutukaka Coast and Bream Bay area. We are a small team that thrives on growing, learning and exploring.

We look to hire enthusiastic and passionate PADI professionals who have the personal attributes and professional qualifications necessary to maintain a high level of professional service to all our customers. Onboard everybody works as a team and is equal regardless of their role.

In maintaining our high standards of professionalism, we hire PADI Dive Instructors as part of our dive crew.

About the role

Primary responsibility extends to all PADI dive courses conducted and guiding certified divers on our vessels. It is also the Instructor's responsibility to ensure all PADI courses are conducted in accordance with PADI standards. In keeping with the high level of professional service we provide, all Dive Supervisors employed are required to hold the following qualifications:

  • Current teaching status as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor or higher rating with at least 4 years experience, MSDT an advantage
  • Current COC with medical clearance
  • Oxygen Provider and EFR trained desirable
  • Tank filler certification desirable
  • English and another European language
  • A valid and clean motor vehicle driver license (25 years old or older)
  • Experience working on Liveaboards
  • Experience working in temperate (cold) water
  • Knowledge of social media platforms
  • Computer skills an advantage

Job tasks and responsibilities:

  • Follow PADI standards, industry best practice and safety procedures
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and satisfaction
  • Show strong communication, interpersonal and team work skills
  • Drive company vehicles
  • Assist in loading / unloading / cleaning of boats
  • Check-in customer and equipment hire
  • Collection of any outstanding monies
  • Provide safety briefing for all the ours guests
  • Assist skippers with the operation of our vessels
  • Assist clients with equipment, water entry and exit.
  • Lead personalised scuba diving experience
  • Provide coaching, training and instruction for all try diving participants
  • Teach courses in diving techniques
  • Conduct snorkel tours
  • Tank filling
  • Cleaning and sanitation of scuba diving equipment
  • Update our website and social media
  • Stock reconciliation
  • Respond to email enquiries
  • Help and provide guidance for new instructors
  • Co-ordinate trip roster and team

NOTE:  Our preferred candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening, which will include alcohol/drug testing.
