Job Title: Duke of Edinburgh Co-ordinator

Employment type: Fixed Term for 3 years

Hours per week: 40hr per week (including 30-minute paid lunch break)

Salary: £22000 - £24000 dependant on experience & qualifications

We are a community focused activity centre which offers a range of services to the local community. As part of the Tay & Earn Trust our aims are to rejuvenate the River Tay and create more access to the river and leisure activities for young people and those who couldn’t otherwise access them. This new position will focus on widening that community offering by setting up, organising and running a Duke of Edinburgh programme.

With funding from the National Lottery Communities Fund we are pleased to be able to offer this exciting opportunity for someone who wants to see a project through from the start, and to see things grow from strength to strength. With the support of the Operations Manager and Centre Manager you will design and implement a programme which offers Duke of Edinburgh to local schools, individuals and community groups, with a focus on adapting where needed to any additional support needs. As well as this, a similar programme called the  Achievers Award will be created for adults who can’t access the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme.

Based on the outskirts of Perth City, we are a small centre with a big heart, as part of our team you will be involved in the daily running of the centre as well as co-ordinating and the delivering the Duke of Edinburgh & Achievers Programmes.

This role is fixed term for 3 year but may be extended dependant on the success of the project.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience working with groups to train and complete D of E

• Good IT skills: Word, Excel, Outlook etc.

• 16 Hour First Aid Qualification

• British Canoeing Paddlesports qualifications e.g. UKCC Level 2, Paddlesports Leader, Paddlesports Touring Leader etc.

• Walking qualification: minimum Lowland Leader

• Duke of Edinburgh Assessor

• Good organisational skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Adaptable, flexible & full of initiative

Desirable:

• MBL Level 2 or equivalent

• Mountain Leader

• NNAS Tutor / Assessor

• Canoe Leader
