Job Purpose
Plans and directs the procedures, operations and critical outcomes associated with the Parks, Recreation and Culture Unit (Parks/Leisure/Cemeteries; Libraries & Heritage; Sports & Recreation Development) through the alignment and implementation of functional plans and objectives.
Key Responsibility Areas
Formulates, aligns and implements critical objectives encompassed in long and short term plans to guide the functioning of the Unit. Directs and controls the technical and procedural requirements associated with the parks, recreation and culture functions. Disseminates functional and operational information on the immediate, short and long term objectives and current developments, problems and constraints. Directs and controls key performance indicators and outcomes of the personnel of the Unit. Prepares capital/ operating estimates and controls expenditure against the approved budget allocations.
Essential Requirements
Relevant Bachelor's Degree 7 years experience at a management level of which at least 2 years must be at a senior management level
Preferred Requirements
Relevant post graduate qualification in Management.
