Instructor - Ski and Ride School

Our instructors are required to be available to teach all ages and programmes creating a fun, safe and caring learning environment. As a member of the team you will create fun learning experiences that keep our guests coming back and enjoying this winter playground year in and year out. We invite applications from instructors: a current ISIA Certification is preferred (NZSIA level 3) or equivalent. 

You'll be surrounded by like-minded people who are flexible, willing to have a crack where needed, work hard and then ski/ride even harder! 

Everyone here shares a passion for the mountain and the surrounding region because of the endless possibilities for adventure. Whether it's because you love nature, the truly unique world heritage area, or the obvious draw card of skiing/riding the volcano, there are opportunities for real fun at every turn.

THE DAY TO DAY

No two days are the same so you will need to adapt on a daily basis using sound teaching techniques. You can expect that you will: 

• Make sure our guests have loads of fun! 
• Apply teaching methods which consider the personal capabilities (age, ability to learn) of your guests and incorporate the actual situation on the ski area (weather, snow conditions and terrain) 
• Consistently meet the minimum teaching standards required by the qualification held 
• Provide efficient, polite and professional service to all guests 
• Provide up-to-date and accurate information to the public on products and prices and what they can experience on the Ski Areas

As an experienced instructor, you will bring: 

• Commitment to great customer service 
• Relevant and recognised ski and/or snowboarding qualification 
• Ability to build effective teaching and working relationships with a wide range or people 
• Respond in a positive and proactive manner to feedback from supervisors/managers 
• Maintain an approachable and co-operative persona with co-workers and guests 
• A tolerance for uncertain market and weather conditions (particularly the weather conditions!) 
• A flexible approach to rosters, customer needs and the direction of the organisation 
• A positive, fun and happy personality!
