We are hiring a Kiteboarding Operations Manager .This is position is year round and benefits eligible. You will be working primarily in Rodanthe, North Carolina. 

Job Summary
The primary responsibility of the Kiteboarding Operations Manager is to manage all operations related to the kiteboarding department. You will be responsible for the planning, strategy and direction of buying and selling kiteboarding gear for the kiteboarding school as well as retail sales at Stores and online e-commerce channels. You will also be responsible for hiring and training of kiteboarding staff and coordinating with other departments such as marketing and reservations, and you will also be responsible for assisting the retail facility located at Waves Village property.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Management and training of all kiteboarding staff
  • Establish and manage sales and payroll budgets for the kiteboarding department
  • Run and analyze daily and weekly reports
  • Training of internet sales coordinator/sales associates and overseeing and responsible for the completion of daily the fulfillment of shipping orders
  • Process all orders through our online software and Counterpoint system making the necessary edits of any items
  • Responsible for making short online product videos and original photos. You will work with kiteboarding staff to capture and edit simple 3-5 minute Youtube quality product videos as well as photos
  • Responsible for kiteboarding inventory  management and purchasing strategy/process for all Kiteboarding Equipment needed for Retail Sales and School operations
  • Responsible for maintaining relationships with vendors to negotiate best price, guaranteed sales, markdown allowance terms, and shipping cost to improve costs of goods sold
  • Determine pricing, margins, and markdowns of merchandise. Develop test strategies for new business and promotional ideas
  • Oversee the Kiteboarding School; including the kiteboarding lessons, all types of rental gear, & managing the outside recreational areas. Should be prepared to teach lessons to meet demand.
  • Assist with resort grounds, managing the environment to create a welcoming, clean, and safe environment
  • Assist with a variety of Waves Village duties as needed
  • Assists with general reservations and adventure bookings
  • Coordinate directly with the Waves Village Manager and function as Assistant Retail Manager for the Kites Retail store as needed

Online Sales

  • Develop & implement strategic plan for marketing online throughout the industry
  • Create Sales Opportunities - Develop a yearly sales campaign to push products on a seasonal basis and develop the product of the month
  • Communicate and work with the marketing team to promote Kiteboarding through various advertising mediums including but not limited to Digital Media, Social Media, and Print Media
  • Responsible for all product content on the website via our Shopify store
  • Add all product photos and unique descriptions
  • Responsible for the planning and content of technical articles/monthly newsletters for the non e-commerce parts of the website
  • Develop community through our websites with these informational articles and social media channels
  • Responding to e-mails daily with customers and contact customers about orders
  • Creation of online promotional campaigns, cross promotion of items, ad well as daily sales and the processing of these sales
  • Responsible for adding content for kite boarding items on the website. Product photos, unique descriptions, optimizing descriptions for search engine optimization, and creating product packages
  • Responsible for phone sales and training of other sales staff that will be helping with phone sales
  • Answer daily e-mails from customers to guide them through the selection process of our kiteboarding equipment and lessons
  • All other duties as assigned

Working Conditions

The work environment for this position is generally outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. Mostly sunny and hot conditions. Will spend much of the time in, on or around the water. May be requested to work overtime and weekends during the company’s in-season time period.May be requested to drive company vehicle to other locations and tow watercraft.

 

Physical Requirements 

About 1/2 of one's time will be spent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling. Two-thirds of one's time will be spent standing, walking, sitting, and reaching. About 2/3 of one's time will be spent using one's hands to finger, handle or feel, as well as talking or hearing. Expect to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis. Vision required: close, color, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Some other physical demands come from working outdoors on and around the water.
