We operate Whale Watching tours from Perth, Augusta & Bremer Bay. We are the only company in Australia to operate 12 months of the year whale watching and are the premier Whale Watch company in WA. We are a family owned and operated company which is expanding nationally and require motivated professionals to Join the Pod.

About You 

The successful applicants should possess, strong communication skills, interpersonal skills in a team environment and excellent maritime skills and knowledge.

Customer service is paramount and energetic enthusiasm about our service and products delivered at all times.

Masters 

Minimum Requirements

Master Class 4  &/or
Master 5 (min 3 years driving experience as a Master 5)

Marine Engine Driver II (MED2)

High Speed Fast Cat - Jet/Surface drive experience desirable.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced vessel master with excellent vessel handling skills to join our family owned and operated team. The successful applicant will be able to operate and manage all aspects of the companies main whale watch vessel, crew, and customer safety. There is opportunity for future managerial offers as the company continues to advance. Job Description - Masters

  • Command of 25 meter surface drive whale watching vessel.
  • Safely navigate to and from the continental shelf on our full day tours*
  • Safely navigate around Whales of many species in a respectful, professional manner (training provided)
  • Vessel transfers to and from Perth - Augusta - Bremer Bay
  • Maintain Engine rooms safety and servicing
  • Conduct Safety Drills
  • Perform Bunkers
  • Interact with customers where required
  • Manage Crew

Where is the work

Our annual migration is as follows;

  • Jan-March - Bremer Bay (Orca Tours)
  • April-May - Perth (Blue Whale Tours)
  • June-August - Augusta (Humpback & Southern Right Tours)
  • Sept-Dec - Perth (Humpback Tours)

When outside of Perth accommodation and some meals are provided.

*Our Orca & Blue Whale Tours are full day tours to the continental shelf and return (experience desirable) and our Humpback and Southern Right Whale tours are 2 hour twice daily. 

All tours are 7 days/week - 10/4 swings 

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a strong family team as our company moves forward in the research & discovery of Western Australian Cetaceans.

There will be training provided to the successful candidates on the idiosyncrasy's of the vessel (windage/0.7m draft) and conducting the tours around whales and other wildlife.
