Field / Operations Manager,– Sunshine Coast 

We are seeking a dynamic Outdoor Education Professional to fill the diverse and challenging role of Field /Operations Manager.

We are a thriving privately owned company – a leader in School Outdoor Education programming, hosting and Adventure Training since 1994. We offer Residential School Camps, Wilderness, Eco, Surf and Survival Camps.

Our Base Residential Camp is enviably located at stunning Noosa North Shore on Queensland's Sunshine Coast, we are perfectly positioned for our staff and clients to enjoy the areas spectacular natural beauty including pristine beaches, tranquil waterways and national parks. The Sunshine Coast is a sub-tropical paradise in summer. In winter days are mild & sunny with low humidity. Sea temperatures in winter are around 19 degrees C, so outdoor and water activities are realistic and enjoyable all year round.

Full Time Employment

Extensive field management, logistics and business experience in Outdoor Education are a pre-requisite. 

Reporting to and working with the Company Director responsibilities will include –

  • Staff recruitment, training, leadership and team mentoring
  • Staff rostering to strict budget guidelines and ratios
  • Program costing and budgeting
  • Management of all aspects of Program delivery including adherence to policies and procedures
  • Excellence in Customer Service and Client Liaison
  • Ensuring Safety is a priority and culture among staff and continually assessing risk protocols
  • Supervision of Expedition and Residential Logistics
  • Excellent communication skills and a high level of computer literacy
  • A high standard of personal hygiene and appearance
  • High energy levels and a positive disposition and attitude even when working under pressure or adverse conditions
  • Scheduling equipment maintenance
  • Working in the field as an Instructor if required
  • Staying on overnight on Expedition Camps if required
  • Further Career advancements possible

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Desirable minimum qualifications / experience

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar management position
  • Experience running multi programs in multi venues simutaneously 
  • Appropriate Outdoor Education experience and / or Cert IV in Outdoor Recreation (or equivalent)
  • Activity Specific Qualifications (Canoeing, Mt Biking, Ropes courses, Rock Climbing, Abseiling)
  • Tertiary qualifications in Teaching or Business
  • Senior First Aid, Wilderness or Remote First Aid
  • Ability to obtain Commission for Children & Young People - Suitability 'Blue Card'
  • Driver’s License (Manual) + MR License
