We are currently recruiting Outdoor Guides! Based in the Blue Mountains Region. If you're looking for casual work and a foot in the door  then this could be a great job for you:

If you are looking for an exciting challenge, on a casual basis, to deliver National Parks and Wildlife Service educational programs this could be the ideal role for you.

  • The office is located in Katoomba and the role will mainly be delivering experiences in Blue Mountains National Park but could extend to other parks
  • 8 Casual roles available, starting rate $39.65 per hour + super
  • Great opportunity to work with National Parks and Wildlife Service

About the Role
The Discovery Ranger is responsible for delivering education and leisure focused guided experiences, as well as developing content and activities, for various visitor markets and school students. You will review and adapt existing activities to suit specific topics, ensuring complete safety to all participating whilst enhancing their experience.

 

Essential Requirements;

  • Current Working with Children check clearance.
  • First Aid Certificate and Current Australian Drivers Licence, or willingness to obtain.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including week-days, weekends, public holidays and school holidays
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering interpretative guiding and/or educational programs to students or groups.
  • Awareness of Aboriginal culture and broad knowledge of the natural and, historic heritage values of the local area. 
  • Sound understanding of Risk Management, Minimal Impact and Bush Safety principles in relation to guided tours in a cultural or field setting.
