Job Description

We are one of the most successful Yacht Clubs in the world and home to the America’s Cup.  

Reporting to the Race Manager and Sailing Director this role is critical to the core operations of the club.

This is a fixed term part-time position contracted for 30 hours a week until April 2021 to assist over the peak Summer Sailing Season ahead.

As the Sailing Assistant your duties will include:

• Admin support for all on water activity in a way that enhances the strategic vision of the club.
• Administration of all Racing
• Administration of all Cruising – sail and motor
• Sailing specific training inclusive of Youth
• Provide results and prizes to the MC of prize giving’s on race days as required.
• To assist in the maintenance and ongoing information provided to the RNZYS website and online social media platforms by the Sailing Office.
• Any future on water special interest areas

If you are or have:

• Able to work flexible hours including late nights and weekends, hours required will be based around the club's racing calendar.
• A dynamic, proactive, creative team player
• Good communicator
• Technology savvy
• Competent use of computers and other Technology, to be able to electronically process results in a tight time frame.
• A high level of creativity
• Tertiary qualification in sports or event management
• Preferred but not essential:
  • A background in sailing or boating
