Job Description

Position Title: Ski Instructor, Snow School (Seasonal)
Department: Recreation (Snow School)
Reports to: Supervisor, Snow School

Job Summary: Instructs skiers of all ages and abilities how to improve their skiing skills, while providing a fun and effective learning environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintaining all necessary certifications
  • Responsible for maintaining all necessary class records; maintaining an ongoing detailed record of all lessons taught including attendance and lesson plans
  • Communicates with both students and parents to insure a high level of customer service
  • Required to be punctual and adhere to the uniform requirements of the position
  • Required to attend department training and corporate training
  • Encouraged to attend pre-season and on-hill training sessions
  • Encouraged to continuously work towards achieving the next level in the certification process
  • Required to assist in other departments as needed determined by the workload of operations

Key Qualifications:

  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Customer oriented
  • Able to repeatedly lift 22.68 kg (50 lbs) comfortably
  • Able to communicate verbally in a clear and concise manner
  • Bilingual is an asset
  • Able to complete other physically demanding duties as required

Additional Requirements:

  • Purchase a Company Snow School Jacket at the beginning of the season
  • Provide Appropriate and approved ski/snowboard helmet
  • Provide black (No Logo) snow pants
  • You are passionate about the recreation industry and eager to share that passion with others
  • You have strong people skills – You are approachable, a good listener and empathetic
  • You will need to be flexible with your schedule. Your work hours will be based on business needs
  • Ability to work weekends and weeknights and on occasion be available to cover shifts
  • You have, or may use our Human Resource platform to obtain, the following certificates: WHMIS 2015, Ladder Safety Training, Ontario Health & Safety Awareness Training (OHSA), Workplace Violence & Harassment Training (Bill 168 & 132) and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) Training.
  • You have a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC)
