MARINE TOURISM SKIPPERS AND DECKHANDS

We are a leading tourism operator with 17 years experience in providing 5 star marine services in the Whitsunday region.  We are currently seeking experienced marine crew and skippers as follows:

• Experienced Coxswains
• Marine Engineers - MED 1 & 2
• Senior Skipper Master < 24m near Coastal Certificate or above and MED 2 or above
• Skippers with experience on twin screw vessels (Master < 24m near Coastal Certificate & MED 2 or above.
• Skippers with sailing experience
• Coxswains
• Jet Ski Guides

We own and operates a fleet of vessels, ranging from 88 ft to 30 ft (including motor vessels, sailing vessels and jet-propelled vessels).  You will be skippering less than 24m vessels in one of the most beautiful places in the world, delivering great guest experiences and working with our guest services team to provide 5 star marine tourism services to guests staying at InterContinental Hayman Island.

MARINE TOURISM SKIPPERS

To apply for the Skipper positions you must meet the following criteria:

• Master < 24m near Coastal Certificate & MED 2 or above

•        OR

• Coxswains

                 AND

• Excellent customer relation skills
• STCW95
• Current First Aid and O2
• Confidence and strong leadership and communication skills
• A positive can do attitude.
• Strong mechanical skills, an ability to fault find and fix mechanical problems as they arise
• Computer skills in Word and Excel
• Experience in maintaining paperwork and compliance with AMSA (and other) legislation
• Open manual drivers licence

TRAINEE COXSWAINS

Looking for a head start in the marine industry?

Positions are available for Trainee Coxswains who meet the following criteria:

• Minimum of year 11 education
• Have not previously completed a Certificate 3 or greater
• Manual drivers licence
• Recreational boat licence and jet ski licence
• Excellent communication skill

Our team will be based either in Airlie Beach and enjoy a 30-45 minute daily commute to and from work onboard on of our RIBs. 

The successful candidates will need to have excellent personal presentation be professional, enthusiastic, hands on individual with experience working in the marine tourism industry.

All positions involve day and evening work to deliver amazing guest experiences and you will be required to work weekends and public holidays.

These positions are ever changing and due to the range of services offered by Ocean Dynamics, you may find yourself doing varied and different jobs (including private charters, tours to Whitehaven Beach or Inner and Outer reef snorkelling diving just to name a few).

These positions are ideal for crew with white boat experience, and/or experience working in a 5 star resort.
