Job Description

The Company

Our client is a family owned and operated tour company conducting handcrafted private tours throughout Outback Australia who currently seek to appoint two to three experienced tour guides to support them through the upcoming season with luxury camping tours. Based in Broome WA, this is an excellent opportunity to work with tours that are smaller in size and higher in standard visiting spectacular locations over a 5 to 6 month season - starting in mid-April 2021, running until mid-September.

The Roles

Under the guidance and direction of the Touring Company’s owner, each Guide will be responsible for leading small group touring parties (2-8 pax) on 12 to 16 day camping and/or fully accommodated tours. Each tour will be slightly different but in general, will include setting up and packing down camp (camping tours only); preparing and serving meals (camping tours only); driving to areas of interest as per the itinerary; and providing a high level of service to meet customer needs as they arise.

The Requirements

To apply for this position, it is essential that applicants have:

  • Minimum 3 years previous experience as a Guide with minimum 1 to 2 years guiding through the Kimberley region of Western Australia.
  • Previous Guide experience in ‘camping’ including food preparation, camp set-up & pack-down, high standard of vehicle safety & maintenance
  • Current Senior First Aid certification including CPR up to and through to September 2021
  • Valid Western Australian Drivers License and Driver Accreditation or equivalent from another State or Territory. This will include medical and police clearance
  • Strong organisational skills and punctuality being able to manage to schedule
  • Strong presentation & communication skills with a positive ‘can-do’ customer service attitude.

The Rewards

Using Broome as home-base, these tours explore the very best of the Kimberley region in the north of Western Australia. The touring parties are small and boutique and all Guides participate in a two week induction program to ensure they are ready for the season ahead. There is an attractive day rate on offer with self-contained accommodation in Broome provided when not on tour.
