We are an award-winning ecosanctuary and conservation project dedicated to connecting people with nature. We have a 500-year vision to restore 225ha of forest and fresh-water ecosystems within the sanctuary fence, and a 20-year strategy that focuses on our impact and influence beyond the fence. We are also a place where people’s understanding of New Zealand biodiversity and environmental issues is enhanced through their involvement, enjoyment, learning and experience of the sanctuary. 

We are seeking a Tours Assistant to help us manage through the summer season. If you are keen to pick up a weekend role working 9am -1:30pm Saturdays and Sundays, (with hours increasing from the 19 December to the 7 February for the seasonal demand over the summer) then please get in touch. You will be managing tour group arrivals, whilst assisting guides to deliver exceptional visitor experiences. The role includes tour booking administration work and coordination of rosters.

If you are highly organised, have meticulous planning abilities, can think on your feet and manage well under pressure, then this role is for you! You will need to be available to work weekends and public holidays, including Christmas Eve and Boxing Day. In exchange for your hard work you will be rewarded by gaining exposure to the workings of a tourism business within a conservation setting. An interest in conservation, New Zealand’s flora and fauna and experience working in a visitor attraction, will be an advantage.
