£28,500 - £32,500 basic salary dependent on experience 

As a UET trainer, you will be responsible through the ‘Team Leader’ to the Chief Instructor for the safe delivery of your programmed UET courses and subsequent pre & post course administration. This will include pre-course contact with your trainees, addressing any issues that might arise. Post-course statistical information recording and end of course reporting. When not operating as the course trainer during UET delivery, you will be required to operate in one of the other delivery roles. 

In addition, you will take up secondary roles which will include ‘pre & post use’ UET module maintenance operating procedures, UET aircrew/passenger clothing and associated equipment, along with maintenance of STASS & PSTASS escape equipment.

Job Description:

What you’ll be doing:

  • Deliver underwater escape briefing and module training on all UETM’s in the Yeovilton Dunker in accordance with LSPEC’s and as required by the contracted Training Plan (SOTT/SOR).
  • To be responsible for the duty of care of trainees under your control.
  • Undertake the following ‘wet team’ roles as required; Course Trainer; Support Trainer; Pool Safety (including FAAW responder) and Diver Attendant ; Safety Diver
  • Undertake direct support tasks including preparatory work for training delivery activity, post-delivery assessments and feedback, including student nominal list and recording statistical information. Undertake remedial training of students as required.

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Experienced diver with an up to date diving qualification – PADI Divemaster / CMAS Level 3 or equivalent
  • Up to date diver medical – AMED Certificate / HSE Diving Medical
  • Divers 1st aid qualification
  • A desire to learn to become an instructor

The contract worth GBP 1 billion was awarded in December 2020 to a consortium led by Capita to deliver and modernise training for the RN. The consortia of partners known as Team Fisher includes Raytheon UK, Elbit Systems UK, Fujitsu and University of Lincoln together with 14 other UK-based suppliers.
