Salary: £159 per week for first 12 months, increasing to National Minimum Wage for remaining 4 months 
Location: Lymington and the New Forest 
Contract Type: Fixed term, full time

Are you looking for an opportunity to gain recognised qualifications and develop professional skills while earning a salary? 

We’re looking for two Apprentice Rangers to work across the New Forest National Park. 

You will gain practical experience and develop skills in all aspects of environmental conservation and recreation management. You’ll also have placements with six ranger teams within the New Forest National Park, including the New Forest National Park Authority; Forestry England; National Trust; Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust; Hampshire County Council and the RSPB. 

Duties will include practical habitat management including scrub clearance and tree planting and habitat and wildlife surveys. You’ll also have face-to-face contact with members of the public and local communities, and help deliver events and education, enabling people to enjoy the special qualities of the National Park. 

You will attend Kingston Maurward College for six one-week blocks of teaching in the first 12 months prior to an independent End Point Assessment. Accredited certified training will be given in brush cutters and strimmers, chainsaw operations and first aid.
