ABOUT US

We are a leading outdoor education provider, located at the southern end of the Libretto Range in the Lewis Pass area, near the boundary between Canterbury, Inland Kaikoura and the West Coast. We are surrounded by bush, mountains and rivers that afford us unique outdoor experiences for clients and staff alike. You will be working alongside a dedicated team to help inspire and extend the potential of young people to be lifelong learners, nestled amongst the majesty of the Southern Alps.

WHAT WILL YOUR ROLE INVOLVE?

Staffing of the programmes will depend on your needs & the demand of the camps, with Feb-May and Sep-Dec as our busiest periods of the year. We strive to work with you to ensure flexibility, work availability and prompt communication around ongoing work dates or one-off opportunities so that we can best involve you, with your passions and lifestyle in mind. Our programmes are varied; from 3-day experiential learning camps to 21-day Coast-to-Coast journeys, with objectives centred around each groups desired educational or developmental outcomes. Each camp is built on a strong focus on sustainability, resilience, integrity, and respect. Occasionally we also run weekend skills-based or family-driven programmes both on-site, and off-site closer to Christchurch and the West Coast.  But one thing never changes; you have the opportunity to provide safe and enjoyable instruction in the NZ bush environment and deliver this with your individual personality and experiences. Your flair is key!

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Current NZOIA qualifications are desirable, in Bush and Rock especially.
  • Personal experience & Instructional experience in ABL, Bush, High Ropes courses, Rock, and/or River-based activities
  • Current First Aid
  • Current NZ Drivers License (not essential but it is an advantage)
  • Clear Police Vetting Checks & ongoing progress through our ‘Induction and Competency Plan

While a balance of experience, attitude and qualification is ideal, we are also happy to support, train and upskill committed individuals with the right attitude!
