Job Description

We are looking for enthusiastic, friendly, highly-competent instructors for a liveaboard SCUBA Adventure Program for teenagers in the British Virgin Islands.

 Live on a 48-foot sailing catamaran, teach PADI Advanced, Rescue and Specialty SCUBA certification courses during 21-day voyages. 

Must be comfortable living onboard a sailing vessel with limited space and privacy. 

Work alongside a marine biologist and skipper and lead programs teaching SCUBA/Sailing/Marine Biology and life skills to teens 15-18 years old. 

Instructors assist 24/7 in facilitating, supervising and inspiring throughout all group activities (diving, cooking, sailing, cleaning, adventures, games) We have 12 students and three staff in tight quarters living aboard a big beautiful catamaran and exploring all the islands and dive sites of the British Virgin Islands.  Flexibility and a positive outlook is essential. Looking for staff with previous experience working with teens and willing to mentor and foster greater understanding.  You should have strong decision making skills and be able to work without direct supervision. 

Dates June 14 – August 8 Instructor must be English speaking, healthy and health oriented (as a youth program we do not hire smokers or heavy drinkers as we are living onboard as a role model with our teen students)  Should be able to teach some specialties including Night Diver, Aware Fish-ID, Wreck Diver.  Sailing experience is a plus. Instructor should be able to transit the United States as travel through the US Virgin Islands or Puerto Rico to reach the British Virgin Islands is needed. Additional Positions are also available for PADI Instructors with marine biology teaching/research experience. Salary dependent on experience, but good, and includes round-trip airfare, room & board, insurance (health and liability) This is a fun, inspirational opportunity, hope to see you aboard!
