Mae cyfle unigryw ar gael yng Ngorsaf Bad Achub Pwllheli ar gyfer rhywun lle y mae ei alluoedd rheoli, a chryfder ei gymeriad a’i bersonoliaeth, cyn gryfed â’i gallu i drin cwch.

Bydd y rhan fwyaf o’ch amser yn cael ei rannu rhwng sicrhau fod y bad achub a’r offer yn cael ei cynnal i’r safon uchaf posib, hyfforddi’r criw a ysbbrydoli eu datblygiad. Byddwch yn mynd â nhw ar ymarferion allan ar y môr, gan amlygu ffyrdd y gallant wella a chynnig eich gwybodaeth gwerthfawr iddynt fel y byddwch chi, eich criw a’r bad achub, yn hollol barod pan fyddwch yn cael eich galw allan mewn argyfwng. Gan fod llawer o ddiddordeb ymhlith y cyhoedd, byddwch yn cael y cyfle i gyfarfod â nhw, a siarad am eich gwaith.

Bydd angen i chi ddangos nodweddion arwain a rheoli rhagorol gyda sgiliau cyfathrebu a rheoli perthynas eithriadol, yn ogystal â’r gallu i ysgogi pobl a chynyddu eu potensial i’r eithaf.

Yn ddelfrydol, byddwch eisoes yn fedrus wrth drin badau achub pob tywydd (sy’n cyfateb i longau maint canolig hyd at 17 metr), ac yn meddu ar wybodaeth fanwl am egwyddorion mordwyo ac ‘IRPCS’. Bydd gennych gymhwyster Llongfeistr y Gymdeithas Hwylio Frenhinol (RYA) yn ogystal â phrofiad morwrol addas. Disgwylir i chi fod yn fodlon cyflawni cymhwyster peiriannydd yr RNLI, NEU feddu ar gymhwyster ar gyfer gweithredu gyriad bychan, cyflymder canolig. Os na, yna bydd gennych y cymhelliad a’r ymroddiad i gyflawni’r cymhwyster hwn.

Gan mai penodiad mordwyol yw hwn bydd gofyn i chi fod ar alwad 24 awr y dydd, yn ystod yr wythnos ac ar penwythnosau, gydag absenoldeb ar y penwythnos a gwyliau blynyddol a ganiateir, yn cael eu cytuno a’u cynllunio o flaen llaw gyda’ch dirprwyon. Er mwyn cydymffurfio â meini prawf ymateb i alwadau, mae’r penodiad hwn yn amodol ar fodloni gofynion meddygol a golwg, ac mae amodau gwasanaeth cysylltiedig yn berthnasol.

Coxswain / Mechanic - Pwllheli Lifeboat Station

There is a unique opportunity at Pwllheli Lifeboat Station for someone whose management capabilities and strength of character and personality are just as strong as their ability to handle a boat.

The majority of your time will be divided between ensuring the lifeboat and its equipment are maintained to the highest possible standard, training the crew and inspiring their progress. You’ll take them on seagoing exercises, identifying ways they can improve and imparting your valuable knowledge to them so that when an emergency call out does occur, you, your crew and your lifeboat will be absolutely prepared. Because there’s always a high degree of interest from the public, you’ll have the opportunity to meet them and talk about your work.

You will need to demonstrate excellent leadership and management qualities with exceptional communication and relationship management skills and have the ability to motivate and maximise people’s potential.

You will already ideally be adept at handling all weather lifeboats (equivalent to medium sized vessels up to 17 metres) and have a detailed knowledge of navigation principles and ‘IRPCS’. You will be a qualified RYA Yacht Master with suitable maritime experience. Ideally you will be willing to be passed out as an RNLI mechanic OR hold a qualification for the operation of small, medium speed, propulsion. If not you will have the drive and dedication to attain this qualification.

As this is a seagoing appointment you will be required to be on call 24 hours per day on weekdays and weekends, with agreed permitted weekend and annual leave being planned in advance with your deputies. In order to meet callout response criteria, this appointment is subject to satisfying medical and eyesight requirements, and has associated conditions of service.

An appreciation of the importance of the Welsh Language to the local community here in Pwllheli is essential, and a willingness to take Welsh lessons if and when possible is desirable.
