Your Opportunity

We’re looking for personable, responsible, and fun individuals who are interested in sharing their love for mountain biking with riders of all abilities on the trail networks. Mountain Bike Instructors will teach lessons and lead programs to riders of all ages in an effort to help develop skill and confidence on our trails. Reporting to the Coordinator, Recreation Programs, you will:

  • Provide safe and enjoyable lesson / program experiences to guests of all ages and abilities.
  • Provide Instruction that focuses on safe use of trails, and the development of skill in riders in a fun lesson format.
  • Act as an ambassador to other trail users; reporting on trail use, conditions, and safety.
  • Assist with Trail Maintenance & Development where required.
  • Maintaining a suitable bike for personal use while teaching and guiding.
    • Ensuring this bike is safe for use
    • Ensuring this bike is a professional representation of your abilities and certification
    • Ensuring you maintain and wear proper uniform, PPE, and equipment as described in the staff handbook.
  • Park maintenance and other duties as assigned.

Your Qualifications

  • Certification with PMBI as a Level 1 instructor a minimum requirement. Visit
  • An education in sport, recreation, or education an asset.
  • Other employment in a position providing instruction or guiding an asset.
  • Standard First Aid and CPR certification is required prior to the first day of employment
  • Strong leadership, communication, and cooperative skills recommended.
  • Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
