Job Summary:

As part of the Mountain Safety team you will be continuing to create the safest environment possible for our Guests and Staff. You will be responsible for ensuring the Mountain Safety Team is prepared on a daily basis to staff, monitor, and install signage in our SLOW ZONES, including how to address our Guests, and document occurrences.

You will also assist the Ski Patrol in any and all fencing, guarding, and sweeping duties.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Actively participate in the creation of the safest environment possible for our Guests and Staff.
  • Coordinate with the Mountain Safety Lead Hand to ensure that the Mountain Safety volunteers have signed in, keep to their assigned schedules and complete their tasks.
  • Coordinate with Patrol managers appropriate locations for Mountain safety staff on a daily basis, as well as set established routine for monitoring Slow Zones.
  • Educate Guests and Staff about Safety.
  • Assist Mountain Safety Lead Hands to ensure Offenders Administrative tasks are operational and kept current throughout the season.
  • Ensure Offenders are treated promptly, fairly, and consistently.
  • Handle conflictive situations with our on-mountain Guests diplomatically.
  • Trail maintenance as directed by Patrol. (Fencing, Tower Pad work, guarding accident sites, sweep at days end, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Possess good organizational and people skills
  • Friendly, animated, and well groomed.
  • Competent in Computer skills.
  • Strong Skier/Snowboarder
  • First Aid is an asset
  • Ability to deal with large groups of people on a continual basis.
  • Previous supervisory experience an asset.
  • Proof of clear criminal record check
