We are looking to expand our team in Adventure Tours Australia and Outback Tour Services, which operates tours to Uluru and surrounds, the wild West Coast and tropical NT. Expert guides, unique locations, a genuine appreciation of the land, and the relationships we have built with numerous First Nations communities are something that makes us unique. Environmentally conscious tourism is our focus to keep our carbon footprint light and on-road waste minimal. 

The opportunity

** We are offering a competitive daily rate, plus a $50 bonus PER DAY as a 'season relaunch' special. We will also assist with accommodation, and offer a $1000 relocation bonus after 3 months, if you need to relocate for the role. **

We are seeking experienced Outback Tour Guides to join our team on a casual basis to deliver unforgettable Guest Service and premium Eco-touring Experiences from beginning to end.

The role involves driving and guiding tour groups (up to 24 people) from Alice Springs to Uluru, Kings Canyon and Kata Tjuta (to name a few!), as well as from Alice Springs <> Adelaide/Darwin. The exciting itineraries include camping under the stars and cooking camp oven meals.

This is a diverse role that requires a love for the outdoors, attention to detail, problem solving skills, high level of customer service and a passion for the environment. If you are after a lifestyle rather than a job, this is the role for you!

 

As the successful candidate you will have;

  • A current NT/WA drivers’ license; MR and an NT H endorsement is essential 
  • Uluru Knowledge for Tour Guides Accreditation course essential
  • Must be able to drive a manual vehicle.
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Working with Children clearance 
  • Certificate IV in Eco Tourism or Tour Guide Level 1 or 2 accreditation would also be highly desirable
  • Extensive outback driving experience
  • The ability to display sound judgement under pressure and in case of emergencies, and deal with time restraints and other conditions that need to be adhered to under our Commercial Tour Agreement
  • Ability to work unsupervised and can deliver an exceptional  guest experience
  • Ability to work flexibly, noting our tours are multi day operating 365 days a year
  • A good level of fitness, with the ability to walk up to 8km unaided in varying weather conditions
  • A strong safety focus to and understanding of the environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents
  • Full Australian work rights
  • Some mechanical knowledge and the ability to do basic paperwork and reporting

The successful applicant will be required to undergo police checks and a pre-employment medical assessment.
