About Us

Founded in 1881 by the Marist Brothers, our College is a boarding and day secondary boys school, whose Catholic identity is shaped by Marist spirituality and traditions. Governed by Marist Schools Australia, the College enrolment is 1,100 students.

 

About the Outdoor Education Campus

This well-established centre is situated on 30 hectares bounded by the Colo River and the Wollemi National Park, with extensive facilities and equipment. The Campus is the base for the College’s sequential Outdoor Education program for Years 7-9 and offers multiple program activities including an adventure ropes course, bushwalking, canoeing, mountain biking, group problem-solving initiatives, camping and expedition skills, rock climbing, and orienteering.

 

About the Role

The Outdoor Education teacher is a member of the Outdoor Education Team. The primary function of the Centre is to deliver safe, challenging experiential learning opportunities to students of the College.  These experiences are designed to promote personal and interpersonal growth and add breadth and depth to the educational experiences of students at the College.

About You

 

The College seeks to appoint an enthusiastic, experienced, and well-qualified Outdoor Education teacher to live and work at the College’s Outdoor Education Campus.

 

The successful applicant will:

  • have strong skills and proven teaching experience in several of the program activity areas;
  • be committed to the value of Outdoor Education; and
  • have the personal attributes to teach in a close knit professional team.

Appointees must be supportive of the Catholic ethos and traditions of the College and give witness to its values.
