Job Description

We are looking to fill a couple more River Guide positions for our 2021 season. Candidates with some whitewater experience preferred, however we're willing to train the right person.

River guides are a crucial part of our success. We look to hire folks who have a positive attitude, embrace flexibility, are responsible, can meet the physical demands of the job, and enjoy working hard in a beautiful outdoor setting. This position will primarily work overnight trips that range from 2 to 5 days on the Wild and Scenic Deschutes River in central Oregon.

River guide job duties include menu planning, packing trips, rowing class III - IV whitewater in paddle and oar boats, preparing delicious meals, knowing the history and geology of the area, maintaining the safety and high level of service during trips. A river guide may also be needed to help with shop logistics, raft rentals and deliveries.

We work hard to foster a responsible, energetic and friendly work environment. Our seasonal staff members come to live and work in Maupin on the beautiful Deschutes River. We work hard, play hard and it’s not uncommon to end the season with some new best friends, some fly fishing skills and a love for the Central Oregon region.
