Job Description

We have been providing quality snowsports learning experiences for guests of all ages in a fun, supportive, and safe environment for 80 years! We are now accepting applications for Learning Center Instructors for the winter season. Successful candidates must be proficient on most terrain and surface conditions, with the world-class communication skills that our guests have come to expect.

You'll spend most of your time:

  • Using the PSIA & AASI Teaching Methodology, provide guests with a professional ski or snowboard learning environment that encourages skill development appropriate for the guests’ ability level.
  • Upon lesson assignment, meet and greet Learning Center guests in a timely and professional manner; ensure students are matched to appropriate skill level and work with supervisors/managers to make appropriate changes when necessary.
  • Assist students with transporting ski/ride equipment to learning terrain as needed; educate them on proper load/unload procedures for chairlifts and carpet lifts.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of all snowsports programs offered by the Learning Center and Children's Center, as well as general knowledge of our overall operation.
  • Continuously model safe behavior and take appropriate action to address or report hazards; follow the Skier’s Responsibility Code at all times when skiing/riding at the resort.

Requirements:

Skiers Intermediate to advanced skiing skills with ability to ski in a comfortable, open-stance parallel (hip-width stance) on all intermediate (Blue) and less challenging, groomed expert (Black) terrain. Ability to ski beginner bumps, while maintaining rhythm and speed control preferred but not required.

Snowboarders Intermediate to advanced snowboarding skills with ability to ride confidently on all intermediate (Blue) terrain in variable conditions. Ability to ride more challenging terrain and bumps with carved turns preferred but not required.

Youth Instructors:

As a 14 or 15-year-old instructor you will spend most of your time:

  • Meet and Greet Children’s Center guests
  • Help students prepare for ski/ snowboard lessons
  • Assist lead instructor, and in some cases, lead ski or snowboard lesson in a designated supervised area
