FULL OR PART TIME SCENIC CRUISE AND FISHING CHARTER SKIPPER
– LAKE TAUPO

Popular passenger vessels operating scheduled daily sightseeing tours and private charters.
We operate two vessels- The 14.5 metre Replica Steamboat, Ernest Kemp, seven days a week on scheduled tours to the world famous Mine Bay Maori Rock Carvings. Regal Flyer a 20metre launch with private charters that can include fishing, clay target shooting, sightseeing, and catering.

Hours can vary anywhere between 9am and 11pm, seven days per week. Applicants must be flexible to work any variation of these, sometimes at short notice. Ability to work on weekends and public holidays is essential.

This position requires the skipper to be immaculately presented, able to host passengers and deliver an interesting commentary. You must be physically fit and capable, competent on the Lake in rougher conditions; you must have great people and conversational skills, and be a reliable team player.

Responsibilities include daily cleaning, routine maintenance, and maintaining safe operation of the vessel and engines to a high degree.

LCQ/Duty Managers Certificate, Ability to handle a firearm, and knowledge or experience in ability to fish and the use of downriggers is advantageous.

Applicants will require the appropriate NZ Maritime Masters Ticket (LLO/SRL), and have a proven knowledge of diesel engines and marine systems.
