One of Australia's premier Surf Clubs located right on the beach at Miami, our Surf Life Saving Club offers members and guests excellent food, beverage, gaming and event facilities.

The club's catering operation includes an A La Carte Restaurant, a Cafe, the award winning Ocean View Events room and Nectar Coffee outlet.  

We are looking for an experienced Events Coordinator to join our professional and passionate management team. Such an opportunity does not present very often. In this exciting role you will oversee a number of staff and have the ability to shine under pressure, grow the business and exceed our clients expectations.

• Demonstrated and proven past experience in managing and delivering a wide range of events from small meetings to wedding receptions.
• Confident at liaising at all levels with excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail with creative flair to ensure the best client experience possible.    
• Passion and commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
• Innovation and drive to continue revenue growth & meet KPI targets.
• Able to motivate staff who look to you for inspiration and guidance.
• Demonstrated exposure to stock control, report writing, rostering, wage cost management and preparation of event orders.
• Experienced in selling event space and not just waiting for the phones to ring.
• Strength of character and ability to remain focused when busy.
• Pro active in the marketing of internal club events, initiating ways to drive business.
• Experience in training, development and mentoring talent in the team.  
• Hands on position working on a rotating 7 day roster.

This is a salaried full time position and may involve weekend and night work.

Required experience:-

• Previous experience gained from such roles as Event Manager, Banquet Co-ordinater, Event Sales or Function Supervisor. 
• Team player with a positive and productive approach.
• Tertiary Qualified Event Management highly regarded.
