We are an award winning iconic property based in Tasmania on the doorstep of the Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair National Park. The Lodge features 86 Cabins, Restaurant, Conference and Wedding facilities, Tavern Bar and Bistro, Boutique and Spa. This unique wilderness property offers guests a chance to reconnect with nature, indulge in local produce and relax in a cozy environment.

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Tour Guide/Activities Attendant to join our team on a casual basis.

 

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about the environment and is able to create a fun and interactive adventure experience for our guests. If you are dynamic and hands on this position would suit you.

The position of Activities Attendant involves the following:

  • Provide  and design of guided nature walks
  • Deliver night spotlight tours
  • Host canoe tours on Dove Lake
  • Host Fly-Fishing sessions
  • Leading hikes through the Cradle Mountain and Lake St Clair area
  • Promotion of and enthusiasm for the unique ecology and history of the region.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in an environmentally sensitive manner with minimal impact on the environment
  • Be responsible for the safety of tour groups and the general public

 

Personal Qualities you should hold:

  • Outstanding personal presentation and the ability to communicate in a positive way with people from all nationalities.
  • Strong leadership and customer service skills
  • Have the ability to learn and retain information
  • The ability to engage guests, promote the tours, and exceed their expectations.
  • Punctuality, good time management skills and the ability to work unsupervised.
  • Have a passion for the Tasmanian outdoors
  • Experience or an interest in photography of natural habitats and environment

 

Essential Qualifications for this role:

  • Hold a valid Senior First Aid Certificate
  • A current Tasmanian Drivers License (or be willing to roll over to Tasmanian License)
  • Public Vehicle License
  • Light Rigid category Drivers License
  • Previous experience in a similar role or appropriate qualification(s) within eco-tourism.
