Job Description

We are looking to recruit several full-time water sports instructors and centre assistants for the 2021 season. Having been open since the 4th July this year and running at a limited capacity due to COVID-19 we have able to determine what we can offer and what we cannot.

Due to all the social distancing we have been unable to provide sessions this season, but we hope to be able to perform canoeing, kayaking and paddle board sessions by the start of next season.

We also run a busy canoe centre where we offer a variety of canoe trips from multi days to hourly hire where we require experienced instructors to brief customers and to make sure they are safe getting on the water.

Who are we?

We are in  Symonds Yat east and we have been operating in the Wye valley area since 1987 delivering sessions and canoe trips to people from all walks of life. Our founder Paul has dedicated his life to paddling with first descents in Chilli and the Himalayas as well paddling in North America and Canada. Paul holds the highest level BCU Level 5 coach award which allows him and his senior staff team members to train our instructors to the highest level of quality and safety.

Who are we looking for?

-Must have a minimum of Level 1 coach or paddle sports instructor
-Must have experience working within the outdoor industry
-A good level of fitness as this is a physically demanding role
Desirable qualifications
-Moderate water canoe/kayak leader
-Level 2 coach/ core coach
-BSUPA/ BC Discipline specific paddle boarding
-CPC, D1 and trailer
