Job Description
Qualifications:
- Advanced knowledge, and the drive to keep learning, about the history, flora and fauna of Algonquin Park.
- Advanced canoe & wilderness survival skills (solo paddle/portage 15+km/3+km)
- Paddling/tripping certifications and related college/university are a huge plus
- Understand and practice the highest covid safety standards at all times
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Adaptable, flexible, reliable and proactive work habits
- Strong work ethic (hard work in possibly extreme weather, with many insects, is not for all)
- Friendly and outgoing - must be effective at educating & entertaining clients from different backgrounds.
- Ability to lift/carry 75+ pounds and portage/flip boats like a master.
- Outdoors card, fishing permit, pleasure craft operators card, food handler certification & wilderness first responder (or be willing to obtain)
- Good paddling & camping gear/clothing for 3 seasons; steel toe boots/shoes are required for farm work.
- Must enjoy living in a rural setting
- NLS, military, additional languages and campfire music skills are a plus
- Non tobacco smoker (smoke free work place and residence)
Duties:
- Protect AAT gear from abuse/accident
- Guide day and multiday wilderness trips
- Provide safe, educational and fun experiences
- Maintain the highest covid safety standards at all times
- Set up, take down, clean, pack and maintain all equipment & buildings
- Food preparation, service and cleaning
- Represent Algonquin Adventure Tours in a professional manner at all times (i.e. uniform, grooming & language)
- Driving company vans with canoe trailers
- Other duties (gear, property & vehicle maintenance) as assigned
Work Schedule:
- May 17 - October 11, 2021; Student reduced season - May 17 - September 6, 2021; full time.

- $150-$200/day ($17/h for non guiding days) + generous bonuses + tips
