Our Yacht Club is currently seeking a motivated, experienced, hands on Operations Manager and hospitality/events all-rounder. This is an amazing opportunity for the right candidate.  

The Operations Manager is responsible to oversee operational matters relating to the on premise side of the business providing direction to the team that is aligned to the ideals and overall direction of the Club.  This is a hands on role in the business with night and weekend work required.

The Committee is looking for someone with a drive for success coupled with impeccable customer service skills, great availability, a can-do attitude, attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a busy work environment.

  • Extensive practical experience in Operations, Functions and Events
  • Outstanding customer service to all members and external customers
  • High standard of personal presentation and strong attention to detail
  • A high level of understanding managerial duties for training, managing and motivating staff to achieve performance standards and KPIs
  • Have an engaging leadership style that encourages team work by working alongside the staff
  • Leading and training where relevant and applicable for internal team members
  • Enjoy working a flexible roster and be available to work a variety of shifts across a 5 day roster, including nights, weekends and Public Holidays
  • Knowledge of beer/wine/spirits and food safety
  • Firm knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety in a Venue and Event mode
  • Maintain and apply knowledge of food safety principles and ensure allergen and dietary requirements are handled in accordance with the correct procedure
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to problem solve in a busy environment
  • Sound knowledge of POS and hospitality operating systems
  • Ability to complete monthly reports and presentations to the Committee

Minimum Requirements

  • Qualifications in Tourism, Hospitality, Events, Business, Leadership/Management or demonstrated industry experience
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Must hold an RSA
  • Food Safety Certification
  • Police Clearance
  • Approved Managers Qualification
  • AHA COVID19 Hygiene Certification
  • Pass a DAS
