Job Description

We are proudly Tasmanian and have been walking for over 30 years to deliver unique experiences that that connect guests to some of Tasmania’s most remote, wild, and special places. We are currently on the hunt for casual Yacht Crew to join our ranks for the upcoming 21/22 season out at our Wineglass Sail Walk (WSW) which operates out of the South East Coast of Tasmania, including Freycinet Peninsula and Maria Island.

As Yacht Crew you will directly support our yachts' Skipper in all operational duties and customer service aspects of the trip delivery on the Lady Eugenie. In addition to commanding the vessels' tender/RIB to support guest boarding and departure of the vessel, you will carry out guest briefing and safety procedures, prepare trip meals and perform cleaning duties to ensure the ultimate guest experience.

The ideal candidate with be environmentally minded, professional, people focused, and will have demonstrated experience in vessel operations and group management.

Essential Criteria:

  • A minimum two years' experience maritime sailing (large vessel), with:

      1) Current logbook
      2) Coxswains Grade 1 Near Coastal (NC 1 or NC2 with passenger endorsement) 

  • Demonstrated ability to cook for groups 
  • Current Provide First Aid (or Level 2 equivalent) and CPR certificate 
  • Manual Drivers Licence 
  • Food Handling Level 1 certificate (SITXFSA001) 
  • Excited and passionate about the multi-day walking industry as a whole 
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate 
  • Excellent people skills - maintain positive relationships; provide support, direction and feedback 
  • Ability to work as part of a team and have the ability multi-task 
  • Excellent verbal communication skills 
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills 
  • Excited and passionate about the multi-day walking industry as a whole 
  • Relevant Tasmanian maritime and East Coast bushwalking experience with a good knowledge of the National Parks you will be working in and around (desirable) 
  • Tour Guiding experience (desirable) 
  • Remote Area First Aid or Wilderness First Aid (desirable)

The role will be offered on a casual seasonal contract for the 2021-2022 season. The roster will be booking dependent, with a rotating roster running until season-end (around June 2022).
