Job Description

The opportunity to join a small and committed team, providing office support, for the delivery of sailing tuition and coaching at our beautiful harbourside location.

Primary Objectives:

  • To provide administrative support for all Youth Sailing activities including; enrolments, processing payments, registrations, and other related requirements to ensure the effective and efficient operation of this department
  • Maintain effective communication with students, members and parents as well as active marketing and promotion of programs and events
  • To support in the delivery of our Schools Sailing Programs working in close cooperation with the individual school’s representatives

 

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for successful management of relationships with all youth sailing participants, school staff, and parents 
  • Assist with meeting & greeting sailing students on arrival for daily sessions – manage the sign in/sign out procedures
  • On occasion provide supervision of students and assistance to Instructors. Ensuring the overall conduct of Youth Sailing students and members participating in programs or events is in accordance with the Yacht Club expectations
  • Administration of all Youth Sailing program enrolments  
  • Distribution of certificates at the conclusion of each course
  • Assist and respond to enquiries (in person, via email and phone) on all matters relating to the Youth Sailing programs at the Yacht Club
  • Manage the storage, and associated documentation and fee’s, for the club’s hardstand storage area and racking
  • Manage the Youth Sailing social media pages and assist in promotion of programs
  • Assist Head Instructor in ensuring compliance with all Youth Sailing policies and procedures, the Yacht Club general Club policies and procedures and Australian Sailing Discover Sailing Centre requirements
  • Monitor and make recommendations for improvements to Discover Sailing training programs and general administrative procedures

 

General:

  • Hold a current Working with Children Certificate (essential), and preferably a current First Aid Certificate
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with the Yacht Club sailing instructors in particular as well as the rest of the staff team
  • Support & assist other club activities when required, including Discover Sailing Courses, Coaching activities, Race Management and Hospitality operations

Casual role; an average of 3 days per week. Times/days may vary dependant on an agreed roster and the demands of the business. Opportunity for increased hours and additional responsibilities should that be of interest to the successful applicant.
