Snorkel Africa : HOW TO GET STARTED

Dive Centers are the best hub to get qualified as a snorkel instructor. In most places, a qualified dive instructor can teach snorkeling with no extra formal training. Strong swimming ability and fitness is required. Most countries will require you are at least 16 years old

If you’re not a dive instructor, you’ll need to be a qualified snorkel diver. You’ll learn theory and practice in a pool or sheltered water. Once you are a qualified snorkel diver, there are three levels of snorkel instructor. You can find a 2 day course to become a Snorkel Instructor. Then go on to become an Advanced Snorkel Instructor and then a Snorkel Instructor Trainer who can train other instructors. You will need all your First Aid qualifications up to date.
