I was born and raised on the West Coast of the Mother City, South Africa.
Growing up on the coast brought a childhood that evolved around the ocean.
If I wasn’t in the ocean, you would still find me outside. I would either be playing soccer, mountain biking, hiking or camping.

After 4 years of working for a large international Digital Agency in Cape Town, South Africa. I found myself needing a change in lifestyle. I wanted to focus on my passion and by doing so, surrounding myself with people that shared the same passion and purpose.
In April 2018, I was offered the opportunity to manage Lapoint Surf Camps in Sri Lanka. My role entailed the management of two Lapoint Surf Camp villas. Being a well-known surf camp this came with many responsibilities, but most importantly the focus was on the guest experience. We had a few record months in the season and an overall 9+ guest average.

Shortly after my time at Lapoint, I was offered to help start a new surf and yoga retreat in Sri Lanka. I knew this was going to be a tough task, but I happily accepted the challenge. What I learnt was way more than I expected.
My responsibilities included managing the Villa, bookings, staff, guest relations, photography and social media marketing, to recipe testing and menu creation. While there, I also completed my ISA Level 1 & ILS Surf Instructor certification. So, in between all my other responsibilities, I also managed to offer our guests surf lessons and surf analysis. I’m happy to mention that 7 months down the line, Solas Surf is now rated 5 stars on TripAdvisor, Google and a 9.9 rating on Booking.com. Solas Surf, is well established and is highly considered to be one of the best surf camps and accommodation in the South Sri Lanka, Kabalana Beach.

Within my 4 years’ experience at Digital Outsource Services, I was promoted from a Call Centre Agent to Support Coach, Team Leader and ended my last 2 years there, as an Operations Specialist.

As an Operations Specialist, we had to investigate all possibilities of improving the current business operations by means of reporting, analytical insights and system enhancements. We were at the forefront of change, constantly thinking of ways to save some time, money and allow for the best customer experience. This came with a variety of responsibilities and having to report back to key stakeholders on a regular basis.

Driven by passion and the perseverance to succeed, I’ve managed to succeed in every role that I’ve worked in and I believe it comes from a few characteristics that I hold true to myself: Firstly, I know how to work with people. In my previous roles as a Counselor, Support Coach, Team Leader and Manager - I was there to mentor, guide, teach and provide support whenever needed.

Secondly, I have a keen sense and an attention to detail. This is something that I could not have found in any playbook. It is part of my nature and it helps me to strive for perfection.

Lastly, I have a passion for creativity. I’m excited to try new things and find ways to think outside of the box.

During my travels, I not only learnt so much about different people, cultures and expressions. But I’ve also learnt so much about myself, which has given me a clear vision to what I am supposed to be pursuing.
