Job Description

We are currently welcoming applications for two enthusiastic instructors to join our team. A successful candidate must meet the criteria outlined below and exemplify these attributes; trainable, honest, disciplined and self-motivated.

Prior experience working in Customer Service, Tourism and specifically the Marine Environment is highly favourable but not essential. If successful in your application, you will undertake specifically designed onboarding training. This will ensure you are fit to perform the duties specific to your role in a challenging environment. 

The suitable candidates must meet the below criteria. 

Qualification 

  • Mandatory:
    • RMDL & PWC Licence 
    • Current First Aid & CPR Certificate 
  • Favourable but not mandatory:
    • Coxswain Grade 2 Licence (open water)
    • Advanced First Aid & CPR Certificate 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Customer Service 
    • Uphold the highest level of customer service to all those engaging Maroochy River Jet Ski Hire (customers, services, governing bodies, nearby business, etc.)
    • Do everything you can do ensure all customers are satisfied with the level of service you have provided them 
    • Always welcome and introduce yourself when welcoming customers 
    • Always seek feedback from customers 
  • Safety 
    • Operate within directions outlined in our Safety Management System
    • Maintain the highest standards of safety for our Customers, other water users and yourself at all times 
    • Always operate within parameters set out by governing bodies and management 
    • Follow and abide by all marine waterway rules and regulations at all times 
    • Do not under any circumstances push a customer beyond their limitations and experience 
    • Complete competency laps for all customers at the beginning of each tour regardless of whether they are a returning customer, have previously driven jet skis or state they know how to operate a jet ski (must demonstrate the ability to accelerate, turn both directions, maintain safe distance, hold a straight line & stay in formation)
    • Stop all riders immediately if any safety breaches occur during a tour and inform them that if they a second safety breach occurs their tour will be terminated without refund
    • Follow all Standard operating procedures and checklists 
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) & Checklists
    • Follow Open Checklist 
    • Complete and follow Routine Daily Maintenance Checklist 
    • Complete Pre-tour Checklist 
    • Have all Hirers and Co-Hirers complete Indemnity Forms prior to tour
    • Conduct Safety Briefing & Tour Specific Safety Briefing prior to departure for all tours 
    • Follow Close Checklist 
    • If an incident occurs:
      • Inform owner/ manager immediately 
      • Complete relevant incident reporting documentation
  • Dress Code 
    • Navy blue polo shirt provided to you 
    • Clean board shorts 
    • Navy blue, white or grey long-sleeved rash-vest 
    • Wetsuit (at your discretion) 
    • No offensive boardshorts, hats, wetsuits etc. 
    • Always present & hold yourself to a high standard
