Your Responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching duties relative to certification and experience including direct product marketing to guests. 
  • Operate according to code of conduct and values statement of the company and the Snow Sports School and assist other Coordinators with the successful management of the Sports School.
  • Retain staffing inventory to match customer demands for all Instructor Training Programs. Liaise with Program Coordinators
  • Coordinate the training of all snowboard staff including preparing and renewing all snowboard training material.
  • Deliver seasonal training to snowboard training staff (train the trainer).
  • Coordinate back / slack / side country and Park / Boardercross activities. Ensure all staff are trained specifically.

Ideal Candidates:

  • Updated and current level 4 certification with CASI.
  • Active CASI course evaluator preferably level 3 or 4.
  • CS certification.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficient use of spoken English.
  • Extensive professional Sports School teaching and preferably supervisory/management experience.
  • Understanding of accounting/payroll/staffing principles.
  • Post-secondary education in business administration or human resource management or equivalent industry experience.
  • Outstanding computers skills; Microsoft computer systems.
  • Highly organized, accurate and detail oriented.
  • Polished interpersonal, motivational and communication skills.
  • Relevant vocational workplace safety training (e.g. violence in workplace, accident investigation).
  • Basic understanding of RTP database use.
  • Proven track record in tourism, guest services, and as a team player.
  • Legally able to work in Canada from August 2020 until April 2021.
  • Willing to submit to an RCMP criminal record check.
  • Undertake required daily duties as per our operating guidelines.
  • Comply with the Alpine Responsibility Code.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • You must be physically able to fully undertake teaching responsibilities pertinent to your certification level and discipline in a safe and diligent manner.
  • Able to work outside in all winter weather conditions.
  • High degree of physical fitness. Free of injuries that may obstruct daily duties.

PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES:

  • Extended sales training and/or experience is an asset.
  • Dual or multi snow sport certification (e.g. CSIA and CASI).
  • Several seasons previous experience teaching adult lessons.
