Positions:

• General Manager (x1), Crew Wage: $18-20/hour
• Paddle Crew (10), Crew Wage: $15/hour
• Crew Lead (2), Crew Lead Wage: $16-20/hour

The Crew will help our paddlers jump on and off the river where our Paddle vans are stationed for the season.

Our Stations are strategically placed alongside the Bow River so our paddlers have a variety of options for where to begin, and where to end. Booking is done on-site, or online.

POSITION: Crew Members (Part Time positions)

We are dedicated to providing an exciting and unforgettable experience for our Paddlers and Crew. Working as a member of the Crew Team is a thrilling way to start or further a career in Recreation, Physical Education, Travel and Tourism, or Hospitality. As the main contact for equipment rentals, you will be responsible for processing payments, assisting paddlers with rental agreements, and ensuring the safety and comfort of our customers at all times. The perfect candidate for this role is a dynamic person who is physically fit, self-motivated, flexible, professional, and possesses exceptional customer service skills. If you have a passion for recreation and the outdoors and want to gain valuable experience, this is the role for you!

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Daily setup of locations

• Coordinate equipment rentals, i.e. kayaks, rafts and safety equipment

• Assemble and provide kayaks, rafts and safety equipment to paddlers

• Clearly communicate safe boating and equipment policies via a paddler ‘Safety Talk’

• Assist paddlers in filling out rental agreements, processing of payments and waivers

• Use app to interact with customers on iPad

• Be a brand ambassador 

• Provide each customer with an exceptional experience by developing strong relationships and meeting customer needs

• Ensure all safety equipment is included in every vessel rental

• Monitor paddler activities getting in and out of the water to ensure safety compliance

• Maintain proper inventory of all inventory/equipment throughout the day.

• Relocate kayaks returned downstream to upstream sites

• Keep all rentals (i.e. kayaks, rafts, life vests, paddles) clean and in good working condition

• Report any damages or wear and tear of all equipment to the Team Lead or Manager

• Paddle Station site area clean up

• Cleaning worksite, so it is ready for use for the next shift members and the general public.

• Other duties as assigned by the Manager, or Senior Crew.

• Cheerleading and promotional activities

All Candidates Qualifications :

• Excellent Customer Service skills with a solid understanding of guest service principles.

• Physically fit and able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. (i.e. kayaks and rafts).

• Motivated to work independently and as a member of a team.

• Able to effectively multitask; must be organized and detail oriented.

• Neat and clean in appearance with an outgoing personality.

• Ability to adapt and accept direction in a dynamic environment with changing demands.

Assets (nice to have) :

• Current 1st Aid Certificate; a CPR Certificate is considered an asset.

• Additional language

• Rafting experience

• Swimming experience, lifeguard certification or water safety training is also considered an asset

• Slack Messaging app experience
