Voted on Outside Magazine's Best Places to Work list for multiple years in a row, is hiring Rock Climbing/SUP instructors for our Small Group Adventure Camp. Our mission is to empower school-aged children to choose active, outdoor lifestyles. Instructors are the cornerstone of our team, providing support, mentorship, and instruction to our campers with enthusiasm and passion.

The CORE Responsibilities of an Instructor:

Happy Campers

  • Provide age and developmentally-appropriate outdoor instruction
  • Independently lead an activity group of up to 5 campers for a week of rock climbing (2 days/wk) and Standup Paddleboarding (3 days/wk).
  • Serve as a role model and guide campers with appropriate behavior, attitudes, and activities

Stellar Programs

  • Independently lead activities at designated recreational areas
  • Provide safe, quality programs by following Avid4 Adventure and regulatory guidelines on the health and safety of all participants.

Passionate Staff

  • Provide exceptional customer service to parents and all participants in our programs
  • Be a member of a dynamic staff team and take an active role in the evaluation of campers, programs, and staff

Job Requirements:

  • This position requires the instructor to be able to set top rope anchors independently to safely prepare the climbing site every day.
  • Reliable personal transportation to get to and from various recreation sites in your assigned region.
  • Ability to store (We would assist as needed) & transport gear for group rock climbing equipment (we provide) and inflatable SUPs.
  • The experience and ability to individually lead a group of up to 5 campers in rock climbing and SUPing on flat water.
  • Minimum 19 years of age and a sincere passion for working with kids.
  • Basic First Aid & CPR certifications are required.

Scheduling:

  • Camp programs run through the end of summer. You will work Monday - Friday, from 8am -3pm. There will be additional hours required for a weekly staff meeting and pre-camp calls/lesson planning.
  • Training can start immediately and camp runs through 8/14/2020.
