MIN QUALIFICATION – Coxswain NC1 or NC2
We offer private charters and cruises aboard 2 x Seawind Catamarans on the Gold Coast Broadwater. Specialising in Hen's parties, Birthday parties, Corporate events and Christmas parties, we pride ourselves on creating an exciting and fun venue for those special occasions.
With the busy summer season approaching we are currently recruiting an experienced and qualified skipper on a casual basis to operate day sailing charters and tours departing from Marina Mirage.
The nature of this role is very customer focused so we are seeking a candidate with a fun, outgoing personality, outstanding communication skills and customer service experience.
This is a casual position with varied hours, applicants must be available for weekend work.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Safe operation of the vessel
- Ensuring the welfare and safety of all passengers and crew
- Adherence to SMS and operational procedures
- Maintain vessel logs and required paperwork
- Ability to 'see and act' on any issues that may arise
- Ability to delegate duties to crew and conduct staff training / inductions
- Ability to direct customers and crew as required
- Providing informative and engaging commentary on tours
- Making our guests smile ????
- Basic cleaning and maintenance
The successful candidate will possess the following;
- Minimum qualification - Current coxswain, NC1 or NC2
- Demonstrated abilities and experience in vessel handling
- Current 1st aid certificate (or prepared to get)
- As we are a licensed venue we would require the applicant to hold a current RSA ticket (or ability to obtain one).
- Hospitality experience would be advantageous.
- A friendly, outgoing and approachable personality and a love of people and fun.
- Reliable and consistent availability on weekends and some week days
- Excellent customer service skills and understanding of the importance of, and ability to encourage, customer feedback and reviews.
- High energy levels
- Enthusiastic and optimistic attitude
- Sailing experience preferred but not essential.
