Looking for a Walking Tour Guide

Job Description

We are a well established tour company which has been delivering walking holidays around Australia for 20 years. We are seeking a walking tour guide to coordinate and host a range of walking tours in Victoria, South Australia, NSW and beyond.

To be considered for this role, you MUST:
- be based in Victoria (the office is located in South Gippsland)
- hold a current drivers licence
- hold a taxi accreditation certificate, or equivalent
- have experience as a guide - preferably walking guide, or in outdoor education
- have senior or wilderness first aid
- be able to drive with and reverse a trailer
- be prepared to be away from home for several weeks at a time while delivering interstate tours
- be ready to start in August/ September

We are looking for:
- one guide to work full time
AND
- one guide to work in a casual capacity to deliver approx 2  to 3 tours per month.

There will be interstate travel involved - tours range from 3 to 8 days in duration.

The successful applicant will ideally extensive hiking experience and knowledge.

Tour destinations include:

  • Snowy Mountains
  • Victorian High Country
  • Kangaroo Island
  • Flinders Ranges
  • Grampians
  • Wilsons Prom
  • Great Ocean Walk
  • and many more

The successful applicant will have an interest in natural history, flora and fauna and knowledge of walking trails in many of the destinations listed above.

We offer a quality experience to guests.  You will need to be well organised, well presented and have the ability to communicate with other guides and guests from different backgrounds.  You will also need to flexible, open to change and able to problem solve.

Other requirements:

  • Light or heavy vehicle licence an advantage
  • Experience catering for group travel (between 6 and 10 guests) including meal preparation
